SCREENPRINTING
HOW WE CREATE A SCREEN.
Screens are made by putting a light sensitive emulsion on a mesh surface. Then your chosen artwork is taken and printed out on a film type paper. The screen is then exposed on our vacuum light table with the artwork under it. The light solidifies the emulsion around the design, and where the light failed to pass through, this emulsion breaks down. The screen is then rinsed out and what is left your artwork.
SCREEN PRINTING T-SHIRTS.
We then place the T shirt on a platen and each screen swings around over the top of it. The screen is brought down and placed on top of the T shirt, and a squeegee is pulled over the screen’s ink colour which pushes the ink through the mesh and onto the shirt fabric. The platen with the shirt is then moved under a flash unit where it dries. Upon curing, the shirt platen is brought back and the next colour screen is swung over the top of it. The finished product is then taken off the platen and placed on our belt drier to fully cure the ink.
BENEFITS OF SCREEN PRINTING.
Screen printing allows us to produce quality looking designs at an affordable price. If you want to print a vibrant image on a T-shirt that won’t fade easily, screen printing is the way to go. Most of the printed tees you find on the high street use this technique, and it is ideal for both large multi colour jobs, or single colour small jobs.
